YOU ARE NOT BROKEN. YOU ARE ORGANIZED AROUND SURVIVAL.One part of you might want to set a boundary, while another is afraid of disappointing someone. One part wants connection, while another wants to run. Parts work offers a compassionate way to understand these internal conflicts.
We all have different emotional states, needs, and protective responses that show up in different situations. Some parts carry fear, shame, or grief. Other parts work hard to protect you from feeling those things. None of this means something is wrong with you. These parts developed for reasons, often using strategies that made sense once, even if they don't serve you the same way now. |
GETTING CURIOUS INSTEAD OF CRITICALMy approach draws from Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed parts work, including the idea that overwhelming experiences can lead different parts of us to take on different roles in order to cope. Instead of asking "how do I get rid of this part of myself," we can start asking what it's trying to protect you from, what it needs you to understand, and when it learned this was necessary. That shift, from fighting yourself to understanding yourself, can be genuinely healing.
MEETING YOUR PARTS WITH COMPASSIONWe make space for the protective parts that have been working hard, and gently build trust with the more vulnerable parts underneath. Rather than forcing a part to change, we listen. Many difficult reactions are learned survival responses, not evidence that something is wrong with you.

The goal isn't to get rid of your parts, it's to help them feel safe enough
that they don't have to work so hard anymore.
YOU ARE MORE THAN ANY ONE
You are not your anxiety, your inner critic, or your protective patterns.
These are parts of your experience, not the entirety of who you are. As your protective parts learn to trust that you can care for yourself now, more of your authentic self, your curiosity, creativity, and aliveness can have room to emerge. |
